PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
TERMINATION/CANCELLATION OF PRESCRIBED AND LAPSED DISCRETIONARY GRANT CLAIMS
Effective Date: 30 March 2026
Services SETA hereby informs stakeholders of a final determination regarding Discretionary Grant claims associated with legacy projects from the 2014 to 2022 funding windows.
This announcement builds on prior communications issued by Services SETA relating to legacy Discretionary Grant projects and associated claims.
Background
Following a comprehensive accounting and legal review, Services SETA has confirmed its position in line with:
- SETA Grant Regulations (Government Gazette No. 35940)
- Public Finance Management Act, 1 of 1999
Determination
All Agreements and Offers of Intention to Contract relating to these legacy projects are hereby:
terminated and/or cancelled with immediate effect.
Impact
Services SETA will not:
- accept outstanding or new claims
- process invoices not supported by valid Service Level Agreements
- consider claims linked to expired or inactive agreements
All such claims are regarded as prescribed.
Liability Position
Services SETA shall not assume liability for obligations arising from:
- expired agreements
- inactive or non-compliant projects
- unfulfilled letters of intention
Compliance Position
Services SETA will continue to act strictly within applicable legislative and governance frameworks.
Way Forward
Affected stakeholders are encouraged to apply for new opportunities in line with current funding requirements and processes.
