Training opportunity for Property Practitioners

Training opportunity for Property Practitioners

An Opportunity for you to Comply with Industry Changes

The Services SETA hereby invite Property Practitioners for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training opportunity on Further Education and Training Certificate: Real Estate NQF 4 (ID: 59097)

The Real Estate is a highly regulated industry with The Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (The PPRA) being a Regulator and Professional Body with different designations. With the introduction of the new Property Practitioner Act that was introduced in February 2022. The new Act has changed a lot of things within industry practice. In the year 2021, the PPRA issued Practice Note ETD01/2020 giving property practitioners (intern estate agents and principals) who had failed to comply with Education Regulations of 2008 until 30 June 2022 to comply with the said Regulations. In terms of Practice Note ETD01/2020, the property practitioners concerned would have been blocked from operating and receiving Fidelity Fund Certificates (FFCs) had they not attained the necessary education qualifications and written Professional Designation Examination (PDE).

In June 2022, the PPRA granted an extension in respect of the compliance with the Education Regulations by issuing Practice Note ETD01/2022 thereby giving property practitioners (intern estate agents, full status non-principals and principals) who had failed to comply with Education Regulations of 2008 until 31 January 2023 to comply with the said Regulations.

All the Non-Complying Property Practitioners were then notified by the PPRA of their non-compliance status and given an ultimatum of complying or stop trading as Property Practitioners as of June 2023.  Many Property Practitioners were then affected by this process and hence Services SETA is embarking on this process to assist those that were affected by this process.

Responding to the industry demand and support to the PPRA, the Services SETA is pleased to announce the appointment of the following Skills Development Providers for the Recognition of prior Learning (RPL) of 200 Property Practitioners against the FETC Real Estate NQF 4 Qualification, targeting 100 learners per province:
